JYOTHIRGAMAYA, a thematic academic program presented by the Padashala of Hawalli Unit of Saradhi-Kuwait was held on April 20. 2012 at ICSK Amman branch. Mr. Vijay Karayil, the Hon' Joint Secretary of ICSK inaugurated the function. Representing various arms of Saradhi Kuwait Mr. Aji K.R, the General Secretary, Mr. Suresh, the Vice President, Mr. Adv.Sasidhara Panikker, the Chairman-Saradhi Trust, Mr. Sasidharan, Program Convenor-Jyothirgamaya and Mr. Ramdas, the Convener of Hawalli Unit were graced the inaugural function.
Padashala is an informal stream of education conceived and managed by certain dedicated personalities of Hawalli Unit underthe guidance and supervision of Smt. Nisha Anoop. Padashala has its own master-plan,written curriculum and class timings. It has started in October 2009 andthereafter continued unabated on every intervening Fridays. Starting with Malayalam literacy, it progressed through imparting cultural education to a group of children of different age.
Showcasing Malayalam Saksharatha that the students mustered from Padashala classes were one of objectives of Jyothirgamaya. Through this unique vintage event, the children convincingly demonstrated their newly acquired Malayalam proficiency in writing and reading. Followed was a quiz competition based on Indian epics, principles and literary contributions of H.H.Sree Narayana Guru and general knowledge. Seven teams comprising of 14 students were competed in quiz. Alwin Vidyadharan and Rido Ramdas were the winners.
Next up held was an impressive curtain-raiser of Mahabharratha. The Padashala students distinctively introduced names of certain protagonists of the great Indian epic Mahabharatha followed by toddlers of Padashala brought in a plaque covered with a veil to the stage. The founder Chairman of Saradhi Trust Mr.Adv. N.S.Aravindkshan was invited to unveil the plaque which heralded an announcement that in Padashala the next syllabus to be studied is Mahabharata.
Numerous individual academic items like elocution, extempore, poem recitation and story-tellingwere performed by children of various units of Saradhi Kuwait. Jyothirgamaya culminated with recitation of Malayalam short-poems. Among which the most noted was the poem authored collectively by the children studying in Padashala. The subject of the poem was the Malayalam calendar months and its distinctive seasonal features.
Several prominent leaders of Saradhi Kuwait like its former president Mr. N. Sasidharan, founder chairman of Saradhi Trust Mr. Adv. N.S. Aravindakshan, former general secretary Mr. Deepak, Mr. Satheesan, Mr. Rajendren, the Unit Secretary, Mr. Mohan K.K., showered their profusesense of appreciation and blessings to Jyothirgamaya and to the children who were part of it. Huge turnout was there in Jyothitrgamaya cutting across different units of Saradhi Kuwait. The Teacher in Charge of Padashala Mrs. Nisha Anoop tendered vote of thanks to all those who have endeavored for the unprecedented success of Jyothirgamaya and to all those who blessed the occasion with their esteemed presence.
